Five brave souls ventured into the Halo 3 universe to help Bungie collect money for the Red Cross. Now, of course we wanted a good place to take some screenshots of our awesome team (Called Attackstyrka Z btw) and we (read I) chose a nice place on Sandtrap. It wasn’t withouttrouble we got up there. It all started with Deadwoods Epic fail out of the Banshee:
After that, there were many similar tries with people falling out in the wrong place. Then Tjacke came along and landed the banshee me, pushing me off the edge:
When I was about to flip the banshee and go up for an awesome group pic, Deadwood thought it would be a good idea to practice his grenade tossing skills:
..But as you can see that didn’t end well for him. A while later everyone finally got up there. From left to right – Talinth | Axegurra | Deadwood | Frantic swede | Tjacke :
Then all of a sudden shit started to explode:
…and Axegurra was like, wtf is going on? and Talinth was like wtf I dunno?
And of course, we wouldn’t be heroes without the emble. Here’s Deadwood showing of his falling down skills and his emblem at the same time:
All in all it was a successful event for us and we won a bunch of games, pising off some very young americans. Each of us gathered 0,1$ if my math is correct which it probably isn’t. “yay”?
2 years ago I was sitting outside webhallen in stockholm at 6 AM waiting for the Halo 3 night release. I hade a semi-comfy camping chair that became more and more uncomfortable as the hours passed. I was number 3 in line however which was quite a feat for me. I was mindboggingly pleased with the ending of Halo 3 and how it felt so much more finished and polished than Halo 2. I still want to know what happens to Masterchief at some point but I think that cliffhanger was superb.
->And today me and Patrick finished the latest installment in the Halo Universe on Legendary and even though I still think Masterchief is the unthreatened star of the Halo Universe, ODST is pure awesome. You really start to appreciate the chief’s power, speed and toughness when you play as a human with no supernatural power and no Mjolnir armor. The only thing I actually dislike about ODST is that they run around carrying the machineguns and spartan lasers like it was paper, what’s that all about? Aren’t they supposed to be very heavy for a normal human to carry?
Anyway, here’s my three cheers for the 2 year anniversary of the end of my all time favourite game series and one cheer for the sidecampaign with the ODST’s
A new Xbox 360 bundle will come out next month, a Elite machine along with the games Halo 3 & Fable 2. Microsoft call the bundle “Games of the Year”. Which are kinda odd, Halo 3 is rather old by now. But hey, you get 2 good games and that isn’t to shabby. ( Even though i thought Fable 2 was boring as hell )
We don’t know if the bundle will reach outside of North America, But knowing Microsoft it will be world wide.
Earlier today I posted about recieving my roosterteeth order and just now I finished watching the main feature of the DVD. And I’m at a loss for words. Let me start by saying a few things about the previous series. The Blood Gulch chronicles is awesome. Take a look in the reviews section for a more in depth review of that. However, after seeing this new DVD I feel they’ve managed to improve the series even more. The BGC had humor and awesome characters that stuck in your head afterwards but the story only really gained speed during somewhere around season 4 or so. I’m nitpicking here since there’s not much to criticise about. The story felt a bit huxfluxed sometimes if you know what I mean.
In Reconstruction the story feels so much better. It’s well thought out and every part of it feels planned from the beginning and it could very well be the script of a Hollywood movie if you ask me and probably a lot of other gamers too. It’s widescreen optimized and filmed without any part of the HUD showing which makes it feel more like a movie. Reconstruction ties together many loose ends that you might have wondered about in the past. It drops a few bombs and the ending was without spoiling it too much perhaps aeons more dramatic than the BGC ending. During the whole movie you get to hear a narrator voice talking about something that makes no sense at first but as the movie progresses you’ll understand every last part of it from beginning to end and it adds even more depth to an otherwise deep movie. In the end, I feel the series has changed from a short movie laugh show to something greater. I love it.
If you watched BGC you NEED to watch Reconstruction. Or else! or else what? exactly.
If you didn’t fall for the temptation to buy the collector’s edition of Halo Wars ( which included the map pack ), You can now buy the Halo 3 – Mythic Map Pack for 800 Microsoft Points.
The map pack includes 3 maps
Having a slow day and nothing interesting to write about, here’s a funny video
Halo 3 Fails episode 5.
Lots of funny fails in here but my favourite one is the stick a stickygrenade and kill the other guy. The part I’m talking about is named “Just a fail”. I mean seriously, how often does that happen? Check out the other episodes for more fails.
Online gaming is amazing, to connect with you friends and play some games. But sometimes the game becomes a matter of life and death… Or at least so it seems for certain people out there. I just got off a game of Halo 3 with Joakim and some friends, and i have tears in my eyes and they are tears from laughing like mad. Some people just can’t handle defeat and starts to scream like some town crier! The fancy thing with Halo 3 is that you can hear the opposite teams chat if you are close to one of em. So after i got a tripple kill with a single grenade the other teams chat went from quiet…To complete mental rage! When people take a social game THAT serious i just can’t help it. I start laughing like there was no tomorrow. Come on people out there! Take the game for what it is, instead of going on about a rant about my mom or something in the post-game lobby. Sure smack-talk are a part of the game, but when you really get pissed like that? What’s wrong with you? Are you mentally ill or something? So i guess what i am trying to say, enjoy the game for what it is, and leave the raging psycho in the closet
I found this little baby in my mailbox today (click image to go to the roosterteeth store):
Of course, when you live outside the us, the risks are high that a customs fee will be involved, and so was the case here. Not a big one but it still stings a bit. Do I smell a dvdbox review perhaps? You never know. Time will tell. Sooner or later… Time will tell.
