The earthquake in Haiti causes so much devastation and suffering. We read about people not getting the help they need, Even children have sleep among corpses in the streets. So unless you jump on a plane and help out over there, You can still do your part to help the people of Haiti. Bungie, The creators of Halo started up a charity to aid the people of Haiti, And here is where you as a gamer comes into the picture. Starting tomorrow Wednesday, Go online and play Halo 3 or Halo: ODST with a certain emblem on your spartan / elite. For every thousand player who do this, Bungie will donate $100 donations to the Red Cross for haiti relief efforts. The max amount of cash Bungie will donate is 77.000 dollars, So do your part and make sure they will donate the max amount.
The emblem you need to wear is a red heart with a white backround, And here is how you do it.

a. Press START
b. Select “SETTINGS” / “APPEARANCE”
c. Select “EMBLEM”
d. Select “Hearts” ICON, “Circle” BACKGROUND
e. Back out to the APPEARANCES menu and select “COLORS”
f. Set “EMBLEM PRIMARY” to RED (or MAROON / BRICK / ROSE depending on which game you’re playing!)
g. Set “EMBLEM SECONDARY” to WHITE

Seeing as it’s almost time for a new Halo game, I’m getting as excited as always since I’m a die hard Halo fan. One of the top three ingredients in any Halo game is the music. The only thing that saved Halo 2 from all the hype and all the time Bungie never had to finish it was the music which was as good as ever.

Naturally I had to have all the soundtracks, and when I say that I don’t mean download them. So I bought them all, then I saw the special edition soundtrack bundle with a glowy cover. And, again, naturally I just had to have it. I was a bit disappointed though because it contains all the soundtracks, MINUS the halo 1 bonus DVD and MINUS the Halo 2 volume one? Wtf? I actually regret buying it. Just a little.

Someone at Microsoft messed up, Somehow _everything_ on the Halo Wars leaderboards have been wiped clean, Returing the boards to it’s launch date form. For the people out there who cares about leaderboards it might come as a kick straight to the nuts. According to Larry Hryb ( Major Nelson ) this was a human error. And looks like they won’t be able to obtain the lost data.

Sad day for you people who was looking forward to Peter Jackson’s ( Lord of The Rings, King Kong ) Halo: Chronicles. The whole project is now scrapped.

“That Halo project is no longer happening,” said Jackson. “It sort of collapsed when the movie didn’t end up happening.”

So who knows? When his movie District 9 is out maybe Halo is back on the table? Only time will tell.

According to Microsoft the project is just “put on ice”. Kinda odd when Peter Jackson flat out said it’s not longer happening. Talk about the right hand not knowing what the left one does :S

It’s been a long ride, for the last 10 years Bungie have done nothing but Halo titles, And with Halo: Reach it marks the end of the franchise for Bungie. This doesn’t mean we won’t get to see what happens to Master Chief, Frank O’Conner’s 343 Industries will probably take care of that. Bungie are already working on their new IP. Who knows? We might get to see what that is at E3 2010.

Comics, Novels, A movie planned, Halo seems to wanna do it all and with every right, The Halo universe is expanding with every new item related to the franchise. And today during Comic-Con 09 Microsoft will announce what next in store for Bungie popular universe. Halo is going anime, 7 short movies are in development and the creators behind the movies are well know anime studios such as Toei Animation, Bones, Studio4, Casio Entertainment. Frank O’Connor’s Halo focused studio 343 Industries will have a hand in all the projects to make sure nothing goes wrong with the characters and lore. The 7 short movies will be available on Xbox Live Marketplace and then later on DVD / Blu-Ray once they are completed.

Not much is know about the upcoming Halo: Reach title. All we know is that it will take place on planet Reach, The first planet the Covenant attacked, ( I highly recommend the book The Fall of Reach by Eric Nylund ). Since we don’t know anything else we can only speculate. A while back Microsoft was looking for people who can handle huge servers to come and work for em. Could the servers be for a mmo? A mmo set in the Halo Universe would sell shit loads, Hell, If Bungie took a a pile of shit, turned it into brownies and slam the Halo logo on it and call em “Halo Munches” people would buy and eat em, Even knowing what the main ingredient was. That’s the power of a strong IP. But enough derailing, I highly doubt Halo: Reach will be “just another Halo FPS”, Since the beta of Halo: Reach multiplayer comes along with Halo: ODST, it would be rather fucked up to have a FPS beta in a FPS game so to speak. Or could Halo: Reach be the follow-up to Halo Wars?
But i put my money on that this will be MMO of some sort that will try and counter Sony’s MAG. But all we can do now is wait….

We reported a few days ago that a game called Halo: Reach was hinted / leaked on the net.The game have now been officially been announced alongside with the reveal trailer. It doesn’t show much, But like we had thought the game takes place on the planet Reach, where Master Chief and his fellow spartans trained to become the super bad ass soldiers they are. Unknown if the plot will follow the story in the novel Halo: The Fall of Reach by Eric Nylund.

Or could Halo: Reach be the MMO we been waiting for?

I was amazed that Microsoft didn’t suffer from a leak leading up to E3, Could this be the E3 they would show something no one had any idea about? Microsoft came close this year, But they have now been the victim of a leak, and it could very well be the biggest thing they could announce, A new Halo game. The leak that seems rather real speaks of the game Halo: Reach.
If it’s real or not we will get our answer tomorrow when E3 start. So let’s speculate what the game can be about.

That’s right children, the demo for Halo Wars have hit Xbox Live. I am downloading as we speak. Since i’m not a hardcore RTS gamer i dunno how this game will turn out for me. But i’m a Halo lore whore. I will update after i played the demo for a bit.
