Battlfield: 1943, Coral Sea Community Challenge

July 8th, 2009

Battlefield: 1943 is now out for the Xbox 360, And will be released tomorrow on Playstation Network. Many PS3 owners was worried about the whole Coral Sea community challenge ( You unlock this map when 43 000 000 kills have been reached over the Xbox and Playstation community ) that they would be behind one day. But don’t worry Playstation 3 owners. The challenge begins on July 10, at 19:43 GMT +1. So it will be fair for both platforms. Let’s just pray EA fixes the servers before this…Since right now the game is rather unplayable.

Battlefield 1943 + Community Kills = A new map

May 29th, 2009

Digital Illusion have now announced a fourth secret map in Battlefield 1943. But in order for you to access this map people on either Xbox Live or PSN have to score 43.000.000 kills.
A really nice way to make the community work for a common goal. The map is called Coral Sea and will only focus on arial battles.
So which online community will achieve this feat first? Only time will tell. Battlefield 1943 will be released on Xbox Live Arcade ( 1200 MS points ) & Playstation Network ( 14.99($) ) this summer.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 announced

February 5th, 2009

We knew it was coming, but didn’t expect a announcement this soon. But today DICE announced the sequel to Battlefield: Bad Company.
Sure it might have to compete with Call of Duty 5 ( No, World at War isn’t a part of the “real” series ) this year. But looking at the one screenshot that has been released i just have to get both games, And treat em both like my newborns.

Here is the statement taken from the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 site

DICE today announced Battlefield: Bad Company 2™, the sequel to last year’s blockbuster title. In this installment, the Bad Company crew again find themselves in the heart of the action, where they must use every weapon and vehicle at their disposal to survive. The action unfolds with unprecedented intensity, introducing a level of fervor to vehicular warfare never before experienced in a modern warfare action game. To get ready for the assault this winter, players can prepare for action in Battlefield 1943™, an all-new multiplayer game available this summer via PlayStation®Store, Xbox LIVE™ Marketplace and on the PC.

In Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the ‘B’ company fight their way through snowy mountaintops, dense jungles and dusty villages. With a heavy arsenal of deadly weapons and a slew of vehicles to aid them, the crew set off on their mission and they are ready to blow up, shoot down, blast through, wipe out and utterly destroy anything that gets in their way. Total destruction is the name of the game, delivered as only the DICE next generation Frostbite™ engine can. Either online or offline, enemies will soon learn there is nowhere to hide. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be available for the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system, the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and the PC.

Using the same Frostbite™ engine, Battlefield 1943 takes players back to WWII. The game offers endless hours of 24 player multiplayer action over three classic and tropic locations; Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima. Delivering the award-winning through-the-gun and vehicle warfare online experience DICE is best recognized for, Battlefield 1943 will have players battling in ruthless aerial dog fights and intense trench combat. Players can see the game in action at New York Comic Con (Booth #1441) from February 6th-8th.

“Bad Company 2 takes everything that players liked in the original and ups the ante – more vehicles, more destruction and more team play,” said Karl Magnus Troedsson, Executive Producer Battlefield Franchise, DICE. “Battlefield 1943 is a new take on a blast from the past classic coming to life with brand new technology that we’re eager to get into players hands.”

And how do we top of this amazing news? Well with the very first screenshot of course, Enjoy

Mass Effect 2* & Bad Company 2 this year ( *= Yeah Right )

February 4th, 2009

Seems after my little outburst against EA last night got noticed by some EA god. Since now they try to rub me the right way by releasing some info about 2 new games from EA this year.
First off is Mass Effect 2. Late 2009 we get to continue Shepherds story in the cosmos, what we have been told about Mass Effect 2 is that this time around you will be able to visit loads of new planets, which must mean you travel to loads of new galaxies, new races and weapons and pretty much everything you expect from a sequel.

Mass Effect was meant to be a trilogy exclusive for the Xbox 360, but rumors now say that Mass Effect 2 will go multi-platform  ( Xbox 360, PS3, PC ). Which then knocks down the promises from BioWare. And since the game will come late 2009 ( if it’s not delayed…and it probably will be ) that would most likely mean that the trilogy won’t finish on current-gen consoles. Makes me wonder, will we even care about Mass Effect 3? Still i say Mass Effect 2 will see the light of day Q1 2010

Next up is Battlefield – Bad Company 2

Now this is one i been waiting for! When Battlefield – Bad Company was released i thought i had died and gone to heaven! Not only was the multiplayer great but the story mode was hilarious.
So what do we wish they include in Bad Company 2?  To start off online 4 player co-op would be amazing, since co-op is where we are at right now.
Less laggy servers during multiplayer, When the Bad Company was released the multiplayer was pretty much unplayable for 2 weeks due to the insane lag issues.
More weapons! Sure the first game had it’s share amount of weapons but in the end they all kinda where the same. Last but so not least… MORE GAME TYPES!

One thing worries me about Battlefield – Bad Company 2 though, Call of Duty 5 will come out this year, and it will be a Infinity Ward CoD, Battlefield might fall into the shadows due to this.

So EA had some good news for us for once, But it wasn’t all good for EA. It’s been reported that EA during the last quarter lost $641 million, The result of this means that 11% of their workforce will get sacked. Let’s just hope this won’t effect the work on Dead Space 2
