Yeah so we haven’t updated this blog in a while now. Probably won’t either. I have too musch going on right now to find the time to write something remotely interesting and Patrick got his own blog to think about now at www.talinth.se so we’ll see when we find the will and time to start updating again. But for now, blog-break time.

I just surfed the steam homepage (I never do, like never ever) and noticed their AWESOMECAKE offers they have. It’s limited for today though and there’s about 17h56m left on the offers. Go there now and buy stuff yes? How about the ID megapack for 27Euro instead of 70Euro? EVERY Id game ever made is there I think, I didn’t check it carefully. For fs go there now and buy it… If you have a PC that is.. sorry Patrick.

Awesome, limited, Offer, Steam
There’s christmas and then there’s that christmas that was just bloody awesome for obvious reasons. These are my most memorable christmas eves while growing up (we get our presents on christmas eve here in Sweden).
1. While I was bloody little around 1990(+- 1 year)

We were at my aunts and my cousin this christmas and it was the christmas I got my very first video game console, the nintendo 8-bit. I remember an overkill feeling of joy the whole evening, but the next day after a night spent at the aunts I fell sick and had to throw up a couple of times before going home and plugging it in. The start of an era?
2. 1996, The super mario 64 age

At the same place as before I got Super Mario 64 and a green controller and this christmas was as complete as it would ever be. As soon as we got home I threw it in the N64 and the next weeks I was in heaven. I think my green controller actually made a difference back then. It just felt better somehow. Has to be one of the greatest games of all time. Ever.
3. The french revolution? It happened 1997.

I was at my other aunt this christmas and that’s when I got Little Big Adventure 2 which I had been playing the demo of like a madman on crack. And again I was overly happy for the next couple of weeks/months. I was totally blown away by this game and has been on my top 5 games of all times since then. I remember being stuck in the desert temple where you are riding a cart around. One of my friends was sleeping over and I showed him the game and where I got stuck. Eventually we just left the game in the menu and started doing something else and the demo video started to run, showing me EXACTLY what I needed to do to advance. I was overcome with joy. I had no idea about the demo video before that.
4. Playstation 2, and Jak and Daxter

At the same other aunt this christmas was where I got my PS2 and Jak and Daxter to go with it. I remember one of my cousins trying out the game on their PS2 and almost finishing it :p It was around here that gaming had started to lose the magic of younger years for me, where you would be blasting away with joy for just one game that you wanted for so long. Ah well.
5. Wii, and the last christmas of pure win.

I had wished for a Wii thinking I wouldn’t get it but I did anyways. With Super mario Galaxy. Need I say more?
And around here gaming has lost all the magic of younger years and instead became a lifestyle of sorts.
Anyways, I hope YOU have an awesome christmas and that you get whatever video game you’ve wished for. From me here at buttonmashers, here’s my official Merry christmas to you!

In celebration of the Forza 3 release I’m holding a small tourney tonight. The rules are as follows:
-5 tracks, 3 laps each
-ABS on
-manual gearing on
-TCS off
-collisions OFF
-everything else is optional
The winner would have gotten a prize but since I couldn’t gather up enough people it will have to be an honor tourney. If you’re interested in joining, send me a message on xbox live. Gamertags can be found in the “about” section. The winner will instead be posted here in our glorious “contests” section.

Forza 3
I tried the demo for Brütal legend just now and I fell in love INSTANTLY, so I ordered it. I’m planning on spending the whole thursday finishing it in one glorious metal orgasm before friday when I’ll be spunking over forza 3 and Borderlands.
I’ve never been more blown away by any demo I can remember, and from what I’ve seen in previews and reviews, I won’t be let down by the full product either
On other notes, as you can see from the pretty crappy twitter function of Uncharted 2, I finished the game on normal. I’m saying crappy cause I thought it would twitter more than that. When all this madness of new games is over and I finally have some sparetime I’ll try to write something about Uncharted 2 and Brutal Legend.

Brutal Legend
If you’ve been following the blog, you might have read one of all the whine posts we’ve done and one of those might have been about the NXE being retardedly slow. Lately I’ve been thinking of how I’m not stuck in NXE at all, meaning they actually fixed it. What a lovely thing? They said they would improve it but you never know until you actually see it happen. Thanks Microsoft!

The last couple of weeks i haven’t had the time to post anything, This due to family related stuff, and a death in the family. But to the weekend i will back to my old self, and will be posting a lot again.
I would also like to take this opportunity to mention that ButtonMashers.se will go a bit more personal. Joakim will be blogging about the upcoming mmorpg Aion, And myself will blog a lot about World of Warcraft, But this doesn’t mean that we will post about news that we think are important. So we won’t cut down on anything but instead expand. Me and Joakim have been talking about a re-design of the site, So you have that to look forward to. There is no ETA on when the new site launches, We are just gonna use the classic Blizzard phrase “It’s ready when it’s ready”.

I only have about 20 or so friends on Xbox live, so I’ve never run into this problem myself, but I do know a few people who wish the 100 friend limit went bye bye. Microsoft never came out and told us the reason why there was a limit when the service moved over to the 360. It seems like we may have gotten our answer. G4, of all people, put up an exclusive story on their site today about receiving a tip from someone working within the MS walls. Apparently, the sole reason for there being a 100 friend cap is none other than Halo 2.
Seems like a patch can’t fix it, because obviously, if that was all it would’ve been fixed already. So for the moment there’s no real solution except hope people stop playing Halo 2, but that doesn’t seem likely as it’s the top game played on Live from the original Xbox every single week. MS hopes that Halo: ODST will convert those last remaining Halo 2 players over to 3 and ODST when it’s released, but don’t count on it. If ODST plays just like Halo 3, in terms of multiplayer, then don’t get your hopes up. Some aren’t fond of the changes from 2 to 3.
