No Updates :/

February 23rd, 2010

Yeah so we haven’t updated this blog in a while now. Probably won’t either. I have too musch going on right now to find the time to write something remotely interesting and Patrick got his own blog to think about now at www.talinth.se so we’ll see when we find the will and time to start updating again. But for now, blog-break time.

We were all heroes

January 21st, 2010

Five brave souls ventured into the Halo 3 universe to help Bungie collect money for the Red Cross. Now, of course we wanted a good place to take some screenshots of our awesome team (Called Attackstyrka Z btw) and we (read I) chose a nice place on Sandtrap. It wasn’t withouttrouble we got up there. It all started with Deadwoods Epic fail out of the Banshee:

After that, there were many similar tries with people falling out in the wrong place. Then Tjacke came along and landed the banshee me, pushing me off the edge:

When I was about to flip the banshee and go up for an awesome group pic, Deadwood thought it would be a good idea to practice his grenade tossing skills:

..But as you can see that didn’t end well for him. A while later everyone finally got up there. From left to right – Talinth | Axegurra | Deadwood | Frantic swede | Tjacke :

Then all of a sudden shit started to explode:

…and Axegurra was like, wtf is going on? and Talinth was like wtf I dunno?

And of course, we wouldn’t be heroes without the emble. Here’s Deadwood showing of his falling down skills and his emblem at the same time:

All in all it was a successful event for us and we won a bunch of games, pising off some very young americans. Each of us gathered 0,1$ if my math is correct which it probably isn’t. “yay”?

Steam Power

December 25th, 2009

I just surfed the steam homepage (I never do, like never ever) and noticed their AWESOMECAKE offers they have. It’s limited for today though and there’s about 17h56m left on the offers. Go there now and buy stuff yes? How about the ID megapack for 27Euro instead of 70Euro? EVERY Id game ever made is there I think, I didn’t check it carefully. For fs go there now and buy it… If you have a PC that is.. sorry Patrick.

Christmases I remember

December 23rd, 2009

There’s christmas and then there’s that christmas that was just bloody awesome for obvious reasons. These are my most memorable christmas eves while growing up (we get our presents on christmas eve here in Sweden).

1. While I was bloody little around 1990(+- 1 year)

NES

We were at my aunts and my cousin this christmas and it was the christmas I got my very first video game console, the nintendo 8-bit. I remember an overkill feeling of joy the whole evening, but the next day after a night spent at the aunts I fell sick and had to throw up a couple of times before going home and plugging it in. The start of an era?

2. 1996, The super mario 64 age

Super Mario 64

At the same place as before I got Super Mario 64 and a green controller and this christmas was as complete as it would ever be. As soon as we got home I threw it in the N64 and the next weeks I was in heaven. I think my green controller actually made a difference back then. It just felt better somehow. Has to be one of the greatest games of all time. Ever.

3. The french revolution? It happened 1997.

I was at my other aunt this christmas and that’s when I got Little Big Adventure 2 which I had been playing the demo of like a madman on crack. And again I was overly happy for the next couple of weeks/months. I was totally blown away by this game and has been on my top 5 games of all times since then. I remember being stuck in the desert temple where you are riding a cart around. One of my friends was sleeping over and I showed him the game and where I got stuck. Eventually we just left the game in the menu and started doing something else and the demo video started to run, showing me EXACTLY what I needed to do to advance. I was overcome with joy. I had no idea about the demo video before that.

4. Playstation 2, and Jak and Daxter

ps2

At the same other aunt this christmas was where I got my PS2 and Jak and Daxter to go with it. I remember one of my cousins trying out the game on their PS2 and almost finishing it :p It was around here that gaming had started to lose the magic of younger years for me, where you would be blasting away with joy for just one game that you wanted for so long. Ah well.

5. Wii, and the last christmas of pure win.

wii-748030

I had wished for a Wii thinking I wouldn’t get it but I did anyways. With Super mario Galaxy. Need I say more?

And around here gaming has lost all the magic of younger years and instead became a lifestyle of sorts.

Anyways, I hope YOU have an awesome christmas and that you get whatever video game you’ve wished for. From me here at buttonmashers, here’s my official Merry christmas to you!

Free chocobo avatar item

December 18th, 2009

Apparently thousands or millions of people have spammed their twitters with news of a free chocobo item for your xbox live avatar, and thus unlocked it for registration. For us that didn’t know squat about it I can just hurl out a big thanks to all the twitterers that made it possible. Head on over to the official xbox FFXIII page and register to get a code for it sometime this december:

Zune

November 27th, 2009

I’ve been trying out the new rent-a-movie feature on the 360 a couple of times now and it works like a charm. Only downside is that I have to delete some games or whatnot when I want to watch a HD movie since it’s 11Gb and my poor 120Gb HD is full all the time.

Another downside is the number of movies available in Zune. It’s not a large library at all and I do hope they mash out releases since this way is even more convenient than downloading a movie illegaly. I would rather pay a small fee and watch a movie straight away with no trouble at all rather than downloading something (which takes a long time) and unzipping it (which takes forever) and hope the release is a good one.

Assassin’s Creed 2: Black edition pics

For those who care, mainly for Joe. I was really lucky to get this one since I preordered it while it was in a “fully-booked” state. Guess it wasn’t completley booked up then :D

Moments in gaming: Your first Baldur’s Gate II Dragon battle

November 15th, 2009

You’ve been playing this awesome game for a while now. You’ve ventured far into this dungeon and It’s been so long ago I don’t remember if I was there to actually kill the dragon or if he was there while I was just passing through. And then you enter this round room, and there he is. Your first dragon, and I think you talk a bit with him first. And then… your first dragon battle. With the most awesome music ever found in a game(probably).

LINK TO MUSIC

If there ever was something to measure how epic something is, it’s that song in that battle. If you’ve played it you know what I mean. If you haven’t, then I’m so sorry for you and I recommend you play Baldur’s gate 2 from the beginning until you get to the dragon and you’ll know what I mean.

I managed to find all the wav’s that makes a whole song and put them together back when I was playing. It’s really smart how they created “lego” pieces of the music you can just build together. One of the best games ever? You bet.

Heeell no I ain’t working mama, I got stuff to do

November 6th, 2009

Yesterday me and Patrick got Dragon Age and we totally fell for it right away. I mean, how can you not like (read: love fanatically) this game? It’s everything that’s good with Bioware RPG’s and more. Anyway, that’s gonna keep me occupied until tuesday when I’m going to burst into flames when my Modern Warfare 2 Prestige edition arrives. Yep, the store sent it today, so chances are I’ll even have it on monday (LATS HOPE YAS?)

But let’s be serious for a while. How many awesome games can a gamer take at once? I mean, over the course of one month now it’s been Uncharted 2, Brutal Legend, Borderlands, Dragon Age and finally on tuesday(monday) Modern warfare 2. Time will tell. If I’m still here on wednesday that means I haven’t had a seizure of awesomeness. Now then, off to take a passport photo then back and grind Dragon Age until my eyes bleed.
